Lucknow: Highlights the city planning till 2021

LUCKNOW: Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) has announced to develop a new city master plan taking into consideration facilities which the state capital would require till 2031. The current plan highlights the city planning till 2021. The new plan will cover housing and transport facilities, road connectivity, green cover, etc.

LUCKNOW Riverfront:The Gomti's riverfront development project, limited to a 1.5-km stretch, from Hanuman Setu to Pucca Pul earlier, will now have a broader reach.

The project will span across 12 km from Pucca Pull and go up to Shaheed Path. With chief minister Akhilesh Yadav laying the foundation stone of the ambitious 'Gomti Riverfront', on Tuesday, residents can hope to see a much cleaner and greener riverbank developed on an international pattern.

LUCKNOW's CP: The city will soon get its own central market similar to New Delhi's Connaught Place, in Gomtinagar Extension. "There would be more open spaces, greenery, parks, large parking 

slots and eateries in between the circular building so that people can enjoy after shopping.

While Delhi's CP is inspired from Roman architecture, plans were to use Awadh architecture in Lucknow's CP. But later, the idea was dropped considering the kind of joints and commercial places it would bear

Renowned architect of national stature Hafeez Contractor had also reportedly submitted a design concept for Lucknow's CP.
